Main Role in ADRICOSM-STAR |
|
OGS is responsible for the continuation of the VOS monitoring program, collecting monthly XBT and meteo-data along the longitudinal axis of the Adriatic Sea (from Trieste to Durres) with a cross section from Durres to Bari, and contributes to the upgrading of the system with innovative expandable sensors and radiometric measurements. Beside this, the implementation of quality control (QC) methodologies and protocols will include the elaboration of information about the statistics of the profile with respect to the climatology of the region (computed in WP1) and the definition of data formats compatible with internationally accepted standards (WMO and MedAtlas or SeaDataNet).
OGS is involved in rescuing and making available basic oceanographic, biological and ecological data for the northern and southern coastal strips, in assessing quality of rescued historical data, in producing climatologies and in the design and implementation of the ADRICOSM-STAR data base. OGS stores and makes available data both for observations and from models, designs and implements the data catalog and a web based discovery service based upon general structuring of the data collecting centres.
OGS contributes in developing regional algorithm for chlorophyl, CDOM, TSM, K490 for Montenegro coastal waters.
